The
origins of military miniatures can be traced back to Ancient Egyptian times,
for the first small warrior-like figures were discovered in the tombs of
the Pharoahs. The Romans
manufactured true lead soldiers presumably for the teaching of tactics.
Since
then and to the present, military miniatures have always existed, as much
the valuable property of nobles and kings during the
Middle Ages and the Renaissance, as the extremely popular toy soldiers in
the first decades of the 20th century. |

It
is from 1950 onwards, that the so-called "model soldier" begins.
This type of figure, in contrast with its older brother the toy soldier,
features highly detailed sculpting, anatomy and composition. Since then, a
massive of truly artistic works have been produced.
This site contains the models that I have painted over the
years. My models are mainly military miniature figures from all
eras with sizes varying from 30mm to 200mm. They were all hand painted with
acrylics, enamels and oils. |
